Responsibility : As member of the Section for Politics, Trade and Promotion, the Officer’s tasks will include the following responsibilities:

• Supporting the trade and promotion side of the Section's work, including organising dialogues with key economic and business actors.
• Undertaking research and drafting assignments as necessary in the economic and trade fields, but also assisting in protocol and administrative matters.
• Participating in the planning and execution of incoming and outgoing high-level visits to advance the Country’s foreign policy goals with an emphasis on business promotion.
• Participating in the planning and execution of outreach events such as seminars and exhibitions.
• Maintaining and expanding close working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders within government, industry, trade associations and academia
• Monitoring and assessing the Thai Economy including key growth sectors and investment trends.
• Monitoring mainstream and social media with a focus on economic developments in Thailand.
• Contributing to the Embassy's public diplomacy including on social media.
• Limited work related to economic developments in Lao PDR.  
Qualifications : • Minimum Bachelor degree in economics, marketing, business administration, international trade or related field.
• Minimum three years working experience within business or government agencies in the fields of marketing, trade promotion, economics, international trade or related field.
• A thorough understanding of Thailand's economy, its industry, its business customs, practices, legislation and government policies.
• The ability to take initiatives and periodically meet strict deadlines.
• Flexibility and the ability to alternate between independent work and teamwork.
• The knowledge and skills to plan, organise and execute mission visits, seminars and outreach programmes.
• Excellent communication skills in Thai and in English (orally and written).
• Good computer skills and knowledge, particularly Microsoft Office applications.
